Vilankulo and the Bazaruto Archipelago is quietly world-famous for its many beach holiday activities. Most are centred around the Indian Ocean which laps our shores with island trips, game fishing, scuba diving, kite-boarding and whale watching to name but a few. Staying at Bahia Mar Boutique Hotel in Mozambique is the best way to explore this amazing location. We can host private functions, be it a wedding, banquet, company BBQ or private luncheon. Our à la carte restaurant, two bars, large infinity pool and friendly staff are available for any function. With its superb location and magnificent pool area, Bahia Mar provides the perfect venue for major events. 

The small fishing village of Vilankulo is considered the gateway to the Bazaruto Archipelago, which consists of five picture-perfect islands, all situated within the National Marine Park. We are privileged to share these breathtaking attractions with our guests. Many activities can be booked at reception, including dhow trips to the islands, horse riding, canoe trips, birdwatching, scuba diving, and kitesurfing.

With our beautiful tropical gardens overlooking the sparkling Indian Ocean, Bahia Mar provides a memorable location for your special day. Our restaurant can cater for up to 200 guests and our in-house planner is on hand to make sure you have a truly memorable day before retiring to your luxurious honeymoon suite.

Bahia Mar has a total of four houses. Each house comprises of two Sea View Bedrooms next to each other on the top floor, and one Beach Suite on the ground floor. This is a total of 12 sea front bedrooms. Bahia Mar also has another ten bedrooms, the Garden Suites, making a total of 22 bedrooms as described below:

8 x Sea View Bedrooms
Located on the upstairs floor
En-suite bedroom with a queen-size bed, shower, large veranda with sun beds and sea view overlooking the Bazaruto islands
This bedroom can sleep a single person or two people sharing a bed
Extra beds cannot be added to this room type – only baby cots
A child below 3 years old (sleeping in a cot) is free of charge

Luxury Beach Suite
3 x Bedrooms / 50 SQM
Located on the downstairs floor
Pied-à-terre self-catering unit with king-size bed, en-suite bath and shower, DSTV, open plan lounge and fully equipped kitchenette, a private BBQ outside, terrace with sunbeds and a private splash pool
This bedroom can sleep a single person or two people sharing a bed plus
2 children, 11 years and younger sleeping in bunk-beds and a child below 3 years old (sleeping in a cot) are free of charge

Presidential Suite
1 Bedroom / 50 SQM
Same as a Luxury Beach suite but more private and with a larger area for BBQ outside, larger outside terrace and a larger private splash pool
This bedroom can sleep a single person or two people sharing a bed plus
2 children, 11 years and younger sleeping in bunk-beds and a child below 3 years old (sleeping in a cot) are free of charge

Garden Suite

10 x Bedrooms / 35 SQM
Private pied-à-terre luxury bedroom with a superking size bed which can be converted to 2 x ¾ twin beds, DSTV, lounge and a private terrace area in the cashew nut tree garden
This bedroom can sleep a couple or two people in twin beds
This bedroom can sleep 2 children, 11 years and younger sleeping in bunkbedsat an additional rate of USD 50 per child per night.
Two of these units have inter-leading rooms for families
One of these units (Garden suite #5) is prepared for guests with reduced mobility

Family Unit
Bahia Mar offers the option of selling the whole unit.
The ideal choice for a family. This unit consists of two double Sea view
Rooms on the first floor and one pied-à-terre Luxury Beach Suite on the ground floor.
Both as described above.
